Copying and Saving
An individual or organization may photocopy and distribute an article in print save or copy and distribute an article in electronic form from cneuol freely and without prior permission, provided that it is distributed on a limited basis, and used in a personal and non-commercial manner, as in an academic or referential - and not promotional - context.
Distributing an article in electronic form includes sending an article by e-mail or diskette to a third party and posting an article on a mailing list or forum for reference, and not as a service. It excludes posting an article on a Web site, even if it is a personal or non-commercial one. This requires prior permission and, in certain cases, payment.
Distribution to media, clients, or prospective customers constitutes a reprint, which requires permission and payment. Distribution of articles as a peripheral or primary service, whether by an individual or organization, even as a free service, is considered republishing, and requires permission and payment.

Reprints
An individual or organization may distribute an article from cneuol for promotional purposes by ordering reprints for a fee. Reprints are photocopies or reformatted versions of cneuol articles for free distribution to media, clients, or prospective customers. An individual or organization is not allowed to make its own reprints. Posting an article on a corporate site for promotional purposes is also considered a reprint. Use of quotes or excerpts requires permission but no payment will be charged.

Republishing
An individual or organization may republish articles from cneuol for a fee. The following policies apply:
(a.) Republishing means providing information as a primary or peripheral service, whether or not a payment is charged for access.
(b.) Copying and distribution for personal and non-commercial purposes - as in an academic or referential manner - does not require       permission or payment, except for posting on a Web site.
(c.) Copying and distribution for promotional purposes is considered a reprint.
(d.) Posting an article for promotional purposes on a corporate site requires payment. There is a charge for republishing an article either in       its entirety or at a length beyond what is considered a quote or excerpt.
(e.) Republishing may be in print or electronic form. Print form includes and is not limited to newsletters, newspapers, and magazines.       Electronic form covers and is not limited to Web sites, mailing lists, online forums, and diskettes.
(f.) Republishing may be done in two ways. First is by providing articles as a free service. This does not require a license and can be paid       for on a per-article or periodic basis. Second is by reselling the articles for a fee. This requires a syndication or licensing agreement.
